The Southern Piedmont Woodturners Association leases a large space here at ClearWater Artist Studios (Studio 122), and has about 65 local members. See their Artist Page on this site for images; and/or their own website for more info. The club meets every 3rd Tuesday evening and non-members are welcome to attend the first time for free.

A tiny Turned Birdhouse by Bob Moffett
The Woodturners meet back in person (also on Zoom) for the first time since the COVID-19 Pandemic! Please join us - onsite, OR virtually via Zoom* - as our very own Bob Moffett demonstrates making bird houses the Moffett way! Sir Bob will be turning three different birdhouse ornaments, showing how one can use the same body, perch and finial while each roof will be different. Bob will show how there are numbers of variations that one can make by changing one element. He will teach how each element can be made in groups and then the elements are assembled to make different styles of birdhouses.
Limited in-person space for onsite attendance; social distancing is going to be encouraged for safety. Please join us via zoom on Tuesday evening and feel free to invite friends from other clubs to join us on Zoom.

Our meeting starts at 6:30pm. Cindy has created a waiting room within Zoom for anyone who logs in early so that you can chat with other early arrivals.
The MONTHLY CHALLENGE project will be emailed to MEMBERS. Please consider making one item for the challenge or provide one show and tell item that you have recently turned to share with the club. You will need to make sure your AUDIO and VIDEO are on when connecting to Zoom. Please see our website for information on the meeting and Zoom.
SPW meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. due to the COVID19 restrictions our meetings are currently being provided via ZOOM. We have ample openings for everyone to attend our meetings under our new “normal” environment.

The Southern Piedmont Woodturners meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. We meet at our studio (#122) at Clearwater Artist Studios, 223 Crowell Drive NW, Concord, NC 28025. Members begin to arrive around 5:30 pm and the program is usually finished by 9:00 pm.
We usually have an "Instant Gallery" of members’ items they bring to demonstrate how previous demonstrators have influenced their work. We also have a raffle of items to raise funds for the club.
In addition to Clearwater Artist Studios, the SPW is associated with the Cabarrus County Arts Council (CCAC), the American Association of Woodturners (AAW), and the North Carolina Woodturners Association (NCWA).
