Walter Stanford
Walter Stanford is a 1986 graduate of East Carolina University where he earned a BFA from the School of Art with a major in illustration and a minor in printmaking. He worked for 15 years as a freelance illustrator specializing in pastel and providing editorial, humorous and conceptual works for clients nationwide including, Nations Bank, The Texas Restaurant Association, Monsanto, Entrepreneur Magazine, Duke Alumni Magazine, San Diego Tribune, Charlotte Observer and many others. He followed this with a career in graphic design that he continues to this day. He is also an award winning fine artist and workshop instructor who works comfortably in oil, acrylic and pastel. In addition, Walter also served as an adjunct professor at Rowan Cabarrus Community College (RCCC), where he taught Typography and Illustration. Presently Walter combines all of his experience to offer Illustration, graphic design and fine art services for a variety of clients.
He is a member of the Piedmont Pastel Society and is Vice-President (former President, 2014-2016) of the Artists' Coalition of ClearWater Arts Center & Studios where his studio, #136-B, is located in Concord, NC. His works are represented by the Art Cellar Gallery in Banner Elk, NC.
